Carton loads can look stable until they move through a warehouse. The carton footprint, the way the lower cartons meet the deck and the handling route all affect the pallet choice. A flat deck can provide broad contact beneath a load, but it still has to match the real package and equipment.

This guide explains how buyers can assess a 1200×1000 reinforced flat deck plastic pallet when cartons are part of the load.

Measure the loaded carton footprint

Start with the finished unit load. Record the outside length and width of the carton pattern, the total loaded weight and any planned overhang. Cartons that extend beyond the pallet edge can be more exposed during storage and transport. A pallet much larger than the load can also make staging and vehicle loading less efficient.

Check more than one carton format if the route carries several SKUs. A pallet that fits one carton pattern may leave another load partly unsupported.

Flat deck pallets provide a continuous top surface across more of the load base than an open deck. That can be useful when cartons need broad contact, but the carton construction still matters. Thin carton panels, heavy point loads and uneven case patterns need their own review.

Separate static, dynamic and rack conditions

A pallet on a flat floor is subject to a different condition from a pallet being moved by a forklift. Racking introduces another support arrangement. Do not use a static-load figure as proof of dynamic or rack suitability.

The published specification for Zhenghao Product 850 lists a 5,000 kg static load, a 1,500 kg dynamic load and a 500 kg rack-load reference. For beam racking, final suitability still depends on rack span, support points, the carton load distribution and the operating conditions.

Confirm the handling route

Product 850 is published as 1200x1000x150 mm with a three-runner base and four-way fork entry. The product also has five steel tubes in the top deck and no bottom steel tubes. Those details describe this model, not every flat deck pallet.

Record the forklift fork width and entry direction before selection. If a hand pallet truck is part of the route, confirm the wheel path and clearance with the actual product instead of relying only on a four-way entry label.

Check storage and pack protection together

Cartons can be affected by compression, edge contact, moisture and restraint during transport. The pallet is only one part of the unit load. Review the carton strength, stacking pattern, stretch wrap or straps, and the points where another pallet or load will touch the cartons.
