A pallet for beverage crates has to match more than the outside dimensions of the load. Crate feet, bottle weight, deck contact and the handling route all affect the choice. Two pallets with the same footprint can perform differently because their decks and bases support the load in different places.
This guide explains what to check before comparing plastic pallets for food and beverage handling.
Measure the crate footprint and contact points
Start with the loaded crate, not a generic pallet size. Record the crate length and width, the position of its feet or ribs, and whether several crates share the pallet. The contact points should sit on supported areas of the deck. Overhang and narrow contact can make an otherwise adequate pallet a poor match.
Also confirm whether the crate pattern changes between products. A bottled-water crate and another beverage package may use the same pallet footprint but transfer the load through a different base.
Choose between flat and grid decks
A flat deck gives continuous support across more of the package base. It may suit crates or cartons that need broad, even contact. The 1200×1000 reinforced flat-deck pallet has a three-runner base and five steel tubes in the top deck. Its current specification lists a 5,000 kg static load, 1,500 kg dynamic load and 500 kg rack load.
A grid deck has open areas that can reduce material and allow drainage, but its rib pattern must support the crate feet. Send a photo or drawing of the crate underside when the contact pattern is narrow.

Match the base structure to the route
Three-runner, six-runner and double-faced bases do not have the same handling characteristics. A three-runner pallet can suit forklift movement and supported storage when the runner direction and support arrangement match the operation.
A six-runner base provides support in both directions. Zhenghao’s 1200×1000 six-runner pallet is published with a 3,000 kg static load and 1,000 kg dynamic load. Those figures describe different conditions and should not be substituted for each other.
A double-faced pallet has a usable lower deck and can provide broad support for floor stacking. It should not be assumed to work with a hand pallet truck. Check wheel paths and entry clearance if pallet-jack handling is part of the route.

Separate floor, dynamic and rack loads
Static load applies when the pallet rests on a flat surface. Dynamic load applies while it is handled. Rack load depends on the pallet, load distribution, rack span and support points. A high static figure does not prove that a pallet can carry the same weight in motion or on beams.
If the pallet enters racking, provide the loaded weight, rack span and support layout. Product 850 has a published 500 kg rack-load reference, but final suitability still depends on the actual system.
Check cleaning and operating conditions
Beverage operations may include wet floors, wash routines, chilled areas or outdoor transfers. Tell the supplier how the pallet will be cleaned and whether moisture can remain on the deck. Material requirements must also be confirmed for the actual product and site standard rather than inferred from the industry name.

- Crate dimensions, weight and underside contact pattern
- Number and layout of crates per pallet
- Total loaded weight
- Forklift and pallet-jack details
- Floor stacking, racking and transport stages
- Cleaning method and operating temperature
- Required pallet size and entry direction
